Events
This is what we're up to this year. We hope to see you at our events.

Keep up to date with all the goings on...

Keep watching....more information to come.

We invite you to join us on Wednesday, February 27, for VIG (Very Important Grandparents) Day at Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School.

We would like to honor those individuals who are grandparents of CORLHS students or other “grandparents” who are friends of CORLHS. You don’t have to have a child or grandchild at Christ Our Rock to come – you just have to have an interest in Christian education!

The day’s events will begin at 10:30 a.m. as we gather in the gym for a brief welcome and update, followed by student presentations and chapel with the students.

After chapel, you will be able to eat with your grandchildren (or adopted grandchildren). The days events will finish around 12:15 with the option to visit classrooms or have a quick tour from your grandchild.

Please contact the school office at 226-3315 by Feb. 21, to make your reservation or for more information.

VIG Day
Wed., Feb. 27, 2019
10:30am

Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School Mighty Rock Players are presenting "It's a Wonderful Life" March 1 & 2 at 7:30 pm and March 3 at 2:00 pm at the Christ Our Rock Gym.
It's A Wonderful Life is not just for Christmas!  The classic story celebrates the American philosophy of life, hard work, and fair play as well as the love and support of one's family and community.  George Bailey, the Everyman from small town Bedford Falls, whose dreams of escape and adventure have been quashed by family obligation and civic duty., whose guardian angel has to descend on Christmas Eve to save him from despair and remind him--by showing him what the world would have been like had he never been born--that his has been, after all, a wonderful life.  It is an inspirational reminder to find meaning beyond our daily struggles in life.
This faithful adaptation portrays all of your favorite characters: George (senior Zane Simmons) and Mary (senior Tara Kellerman), Clarence (senior Erin Carr), Uncle BIlly (Eli Simmons), Violet (Esther Belli), and, of course, the Scrooge-like villain, Potter.  Other cast members in the production are Riah Bottles as Mrs. Gower, Nickoly Bierbaum as Harry Bailey and Mr. Welch, Jennifer Johnson as Mother Bailey, Abby Kleibecker as Aunt Tilly, Josiah Belli as Bert, Gideon Belli as Ernie, Jordynn Duensing as Mrs. Potter, Anna Childress as Mrs. Potter's secretary and Mr./Mrs. Martini, Mikayla Brammier as Mrs. Hatch and Mrs Thompson, Braden Price as Sam Wainwright, Alyssa Lurkins as Miss Andrews and Miss Carter.  Children's roles are played by Reagan Klostermanm, Carson Loddeke, and Naomi Simmons.
This is only the second time the performances have been held at the high school, but last year was quite successful!  Please come and join us at Christ Our Rock as they bring this American classic to life!

4:30pm
PREVIEW NIGHT:
Fri., Mar. 29, 2019
6:00-8:00pm

Things are underway for our annual auction to be held on Saturday, March 30 with the Silent Auction at 4:30pm, Dinner at 5:45pm, and Live Auction 7:30pm. Mark your calendars to reserve the date as we are planning another entertaining event which is important to the fund raising efforts of COR.  There are three basic ways which someone can help with the auction. First, we need items or services to auction off. Past auctions have included many unique items including home baked goodies, crafts, quilts, trips, dinners, gift certificates, memorabilia, furniture, electronics, loads of firewood, and tickets to events. If you don't have an item to donate you can consider being a sponsor. Second, volunteer of your time serving on a committee for auction planning, item acquisition, ticket and book design, and event staffing. And third, plan to attend and bid often and bid high. Contact our school office to be a part in the 2019 Sterling Evening Dinner and Auction. More information to come!

 SCRIP
ORDER
Due Feb. 19th
Order Form Below

Christ Our Rock offers the chance to order Scrip Gift Cards on a monthly basis. You will be able to raise money for Christ Our Rock by purchasing gift cards in volume for the stores where you shop or to give as gifts. Christ Our Rock purchases the cards at a discount and you buy them at full face value. Each gift card has a different discount rate that can be found on the order form.
As an example, if you purchase a $100 Walmart or Sams card from us, you pay $100 and receive a $100 gift card that can be used at any Walmart store. Christ Our Rock only paid $97.50 for the card, so we make $2.50 (2.5%). You spend the $100 you would normally spend and the high school makes $2.50. Many cards have much higher percentage returns, especially restaurants. There are also several gas cards so I encourage you to review the order form closely to look for those stores or restaurants that you frequent.
Orders are due by 10:00am, on a Tuesday, for the order date of the month. The cards are then delivered a few days later on the following Friday. Checks should be made payable to Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School and included it with the order. Cards can be picked up in the school office, sent home with a student, or you may contact Mrs. Kroeger 226-3315. If you have any questions or ever need to make other arrangements to pick up your cards don’t hesitate to call.
